The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has paid a courtesy visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwtada, hours after the conclusion of the party’s screening exercise.
Wike’s visit to Yilwatda at his residence on Tuesday is coming speculations surrounding the results of the Rivers state House of Assembly aspirants screening.
NPO Reported that the APC screening panel had in its result released on Monday cleared all sitting lawmakers and other aspirants loyal to Wike.
This was however not the case with the loyalists of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Both sitting lawmakers and aspirants loyal to the embattled governor were all screened out.
The development had since been attributed to the prolonged and unresolved political feud between Wike and Fubara whose chances of securing the APC ticket for his re-election bid also remain largely uncertain.
Meanwhile, the appearance of Wike, a national leader of the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at Yilwatda’s residence has further sparked mixed reactions from netizens with speculations of possible plot against Fubara.

“Wike is working round the clock to ensure that Fubara doesn’t return as Rivers State Governor in 2027. He can promise this man or anyone that can help make that happen 100plots of land in Abuja, including N100bn to develop them. Interesting times ahead, watch this space.”@RealQueenBee_

“Politics always finds a way back to the living room and the negotiation table. A visit like this in Abuja says a lot about dialogue, strategy, and the constant shifting of alliances ahead of 2027. At the end of the day, engagement matters more than headlines because governance is built on conversations, not silence.”@abdoul_official
