President Bola Tinubu has conferred posthumous national honour on another four Ogoni heroes during his meeting with the Ogoniland Stakeholders at the State House Council Chambers in Abuja.
The President, as disclosed in a post shared on X on Wednesday, conferred the honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) on each of the four heroes of the Niger Delta community.
Those honoured Chief Edward Kobani, Chief Albert Badey, Chief Samuel Orage, and Chief Theophilus Orage.
According to reports, late Ogoni leaders famed Ogoni 4 were remembered as part of the vanguard that resisted oppression in the Niger Delta.
Like late Niger Delta activist, Ken Saro-Wiwa, and other members of the famous Ogoni Nine, the Ogoni Four were also executed, in 1995 by the military regime of General Sani Abacha.
Meanwhile, the honour of the late Ogoni leaders comes three months after Tinubu conferred the honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on Saro-Wiwa and other members of the Ogoni nine.
The President had during his June 12 national address conferred the honour on the Ogoni Nine after granting them full pardon and declaring them national heroes.
