A 25-year-old man, Dahiru Hammed, and his 20-year-old brother, Saidu Hammed, were on Thursday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for an alleged attempt to steal a motorcycle.
The brothers whose addresses were not provided, were arrainged alongside their 20-year-old friend, Mohammed Bahase, and charged with conspiracy and attempt to steal.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Olarotimi, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on April 10, at about 1.00 p.m, along Ibadan/Iseyin road.
Olarotimi alleged that the defendants attempted to steal one Bajaj motorcycle worth N750, 000 belonging to one Joseph Adewale.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 516 and 509 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola, granted them bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until June 16, for hearing.
