A United Kingdom-based Nigerian activist, Kayode Ogundamisi, has charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to probe Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, over alleged breach of the commission’s database.
NPO Reported that Olayinka had at the weekend raised public eyebrow after leaking the bio data of Nollywood actor and House of Representatives aspirant, Emeka Ike, as captured in INEC’s database.
The FCT Minister’s aide shared the information post on his X handle to prove his claim that Emeka was a registered voter in Imo state.
He alleged that the actor had in a bid to contest for the House of Representatives seat in Abuja transferred his INEC’s registration to the FCT on the 15th of May 2026.
The leaked database was considered to be unauthorised to the public, raising calls for probe of Olayinka on how he gained access into the classified information.
Joining other dissenting voices, Ogundamisi, in a post shared on his X handle on Monday, demanded explanation from INEC over how Olayinka was able to have access to their backend.
He maintained that the development raises serious concerns over the integrity and security of the system.
