Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, has purchased the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 Bauchi Governorship Election.
This is coming a month after resigning from his ministerial role in a bid to pursue his governorship ambition.
NPO Reported that Tuggar had on the 30th of May 2026 announced his resignation from the President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.
The ex-minister’s resignation was followed by his official declaration of interest to contest for the Bauchi state governorship in the 2027 general election.
Tuggar made the declaration while addressing the Bauchi APC supporters on Sunday.
The former minister had during his address unveiled a blueprint to guide implementation of his administration’s 10-point agenda to fast track sustainable social and economic development of the state.
He said the agenda focused on economic diversification, agricultural transformation, livestock development, health, education, and women/youth empowerment.
Backing up his words with action and interest with commitment, Tuggar on Wednesday paid the N50 million fee to purchase the expression of interest and nomination forms.
This marked the beginning of his journey towards securing the APC governorship ticket with the goal of taking over the Bauchi governorship seat currently owned by Governor Bala Mohammed.
