The newly appointed Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Postal Service, Tola Odeyemi, has eventually taken charge of affairs at the Abuja head office of the postal agency on Monday.
She addressed members of staff at the conference room of the organisation after hours of chaos which saw to an order on the sacked CEO, Mr. Sunday Adepoju, to vacate the office for her.
Adepoju had claimed that President Bola Tinubu had changed his mind on the appointment of Odeyemi, whose name was among the new heads of all agencies under the Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy.
However, following a presidential announcement naming Odeyemi as the new CEO, Adepoju was said to have resisted leaving office creating an umpasse in the office on Monday.

At the weekend, Adepoju had stormed the office to the waiting arms of some staff members who hailed him for his return.
He told the workers that the president had taken the advice of his aides and returned him as the agency’s boss.
The development had created confusion at the weekend with many demanding who was the real head of the agency.
The confusion worsened on Monday as some workers shut the gate against Odeyemi while displaying many placards saying “No Sunday Adepoju No NIPOST.”
However, Odeyemi made her way into the office about 1pm on Monday after the initial resistance about one hour after the forced departure of Adepoju.
Addressing the staff, Odeyemi said she was in the agency to fulfil the mission of the President on digital economy under the ministry.
