Troops of the Nigerians Army in a clearance operation have neutralized terrorists in Borno, and Nasarawa State.
According to the army, on the 19th of April 2024, the troops in collaboration with hybrid Force, carried out a Clearance operation in Kana Village, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
During the operation, troops had an encounter with the terrorists around Nguma Village and neutralized two terrorists in the firefight.
The troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles, one motorbike, 6 bicycles, and other sundry items abandoned by the fleeing terrorists. The clearance operation is still ongoing in the general area.
In a different operation on the same day, acting on credible intelligence, Nigerian Army troops deployed in Nasarawa State conducted a Cordon and Search operation at a suspected criminals’ hideouts around Abuni Village in Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The operation led to the recovery of 2 AK-47 rifles, 2 AK-47 magazines, and 35 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special).
The recovered weapons were found in the residence of one Mr Abdullahi Musa, leading to the arrest of other suspects.
The army attributed the success of the operations to the commitment of the troops in ensuring the safety and security of the populace.
